Crude oil prices climbed by Rs 36 to reach Rs 6,548 per barrel in futures trade on Wednesday as traders increased their positions due to strong spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for May delivery traded 0.55% higher at Rs 6,548 per barrel in 7,281 lots. Analysts noted that the increase in bets by traders contributed to the higher crude oil prices in futures trade. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.35% to USD 78.29 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.32% higher at USD 82.64 per barrel in New York.
