“Air India Express Struggles: Air India 74 Flights Cancelled Amid Cabin Crew Shortage”

Air India Express had to cancel 74 flights on Thursday due to a shortage of cabin crew.

They also announced that Air India will operate services on 20 of its routes to minimize disruptions. A group of cabin crew reported sick to protest against alleged mismanagement at the airline, and more than 90 flights have been canceled since Tuesday night as a result.

The airline issued a statement saying that they will operate 292 flights that day and that Air India will support them by operating on 20 of their routes.

However, the airline had to cancel 74 flights, and they advised passengers who have booked flights with them to check if their flight is affected by the disruption before heading to the airport.

In case their flight is canceled or delayed beyond three hours, the carrier said passengers may opt for a full refund or reschedule without any fees.

The airline mentioned that the 74 canceled flights represent around 20% of their scheduled daily flights. Earlier in the day, the airline had issued termination notices to 25 cabin crew members who had reported sick and asked others to join back for duty by 4 pm on Thursday.

Air India Express stated that they are taking appropriate steps against certain individuals who have caused grave inconvenience to thousands of their guests.

They assured that they would continue to engage with their cabin crew colleagues with a commitment to address any concern.
