Former BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao confirmed that a High Power Committee’s report addressing issues at the Vizag Steel Plant has led to actions based on the Crisis Management Team’s findings, including a chance of a potential Rs 3,100 crore investment through the preferential share system.
Speaking to reporters in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, GVL questioned the Congress’s criticism of the Central government for providing funds to Andhra Pradesh. He argued that during the bifurcation of the state, the Congress failed to recognize Andhra Pradesh’s needs, leading to significant losses due to the absence of a capital.
He welcomed the Central government’s package for the development of backward districts. GVL further criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that Gandhi, who allegedly controlled the Prime Minister during the UPA government and implemented decisions from Janpath, has no right to critique the current administration.
Regarding YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, GVL asserted that opposition status would not be granted upon demand. He emphasized that one does not need formal opposition status to fight on behalf of the people. GVL also addressed allegations against him, promising legal action against those spreading false propaganda.
He challenged his accusers to prove he had taken money from anyone, pledging to apologize if proven true and demanding a public apology from those who have falsely accused him
