Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, expressed optimism about the future of Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. During his visit to the sacred Tirumala Srivari temple on Sunday, the Union Minister was welcomed with traditional temple etiquette by the officials. After participating in special puja programs, Srinivasa Varma addressed the media, sharing his views on the current state and future prospects of Andhra Pradesh.
He began by emphasizing that the state is on the brink of a significant turnaround. “Good days have come for the state of Andhra Pradesh,” he stated, contrasting this positive outlook with a critique of the previous five years under the YSRCP government. Srinivasa Varma lamented that the State had fallen behind during this period, attributing the decline to what he described as “Jagan’s eclipse,” referring to former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He expressed particular frustration over the alleged neglect of temples in Andhra Pradesh during the YSRCP’s tenure. Srinivasa Varma highlighted the recent budget announced by the Central government, which includes special allocations for Andhra Pradesh, as a promising development. He pointed out that Rs 15,000 crore has been earmarked for the development of Amaravati, reaffirming the Modi government’s commitment to this promise.
“The Modi government is committed to the promise given,” he asserted, indicating a strong central support for the state’s development. Looking ahead, the Union Minister voiced confidence in Chandrababu Naidu’s ability to steer the State towards rapid growth.
He assured that the problems facing Andhra Pradesh would be resolved in the coming days. A key component of this strategy involves reviving the industrial sector. Srinivasa Varma announced plans to invite back the industries that left the state during the YSRCP regime and attract new industries as well. This, he believes, will be instrumental in driving economic growth and creating job opportunities for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
