The Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Mukesh Kumar Meena said that the postal ballot polling has achieved a completion rate of 70 percent thus far. He assured that the Election Commission (EC) is prepared to extend postal ballot polling until May 9 if necessary, ensuring that all employees have the opportunity to cast their votes in the ongoing elections.
Speaking at a media briefing in Vijayawada on Tuesday, the CEC emphasized that postal ballot voters must cast their votes within their respective assembly constituencies. He cautioned employees engaged in election duties to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the electoral process. Meena warned that the EC will take appropriate action against anyone found violating these rules.
Additionally, Meena revealed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has requested information regarding the release of funds for certain welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh. In response, the CEC has directed state government departments to promptly provide the required information to the EC, ensuring transparency and compliance with electoral protocols.
