Pawan thanks Chandrababu for government’s decision to honour icons in education

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has thanked Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for the government’s decision to name various schemes in the State education department after prominent figures such as Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dokka Seethamma, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. This appreciation was shared via a post on the social media platform X. The initiative to honor these distinguished personalities by associating their names with educational schemes has been praised widely. Pawan Kalyan congratulated both the Chief Minister and Education Minister Nara Lokesh for this commendable move. Reflecting on the past, he noted that the previous administration had a trend of naming schemes after the then-Chief Minister, a practice he termed as undesirable.

He hailed the current decision as a significant step towards ending this tradition and instead, celebrating icons who inspire students. Through the “Vidya Kanuka” scheme, which provides uniforms, books, school bags, shoes, and socks to school students, it is fitting to honor Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a revered scholar and statesman.

This scheme, Pawan Kalyan pointed out, serves as a tribute to Dr. Radhakrishnan’s enduring legacy in education. Furthermore, the Deputy CM highlighted the rebranding of the mid-day meal scheme, previously named after the former chief minister, to ‘Apara Annapurna’ Dokka Seethamma. Dokka Seethamma, renowned for her generosity and service to the hungry, will now be remembered through this initiative, instilling values of kindness and service among students.

The decision to award students for their talents in the name of Dr. Abdul Kalam, India’s Missile Man, is also seen as an invigorating move. Kalam’s journey from a humble background to becoming a celebrated scientist and an exemplary President serves as a source of inspiration for many. Pawan Kalyan emphasized that implementing schemes in the names of such distinguished personalities helps keep their legacy alive.
