Jana Sena MP from Machilipatnam, V. Balashowry, met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi to request funds for various railway projects in his constituency, including the Machilipatnam-Repalle railway line. Balashowry informed the railway minister that the Machilipatnam-Repalle line would benefit the people of Diviseema.
Currently, individuals have to travel 145 km via Gudivada and Vijayawada to reach Tenali from Machilipatnam. However, with the Machilipatnam-Repalle railway line, the distance would be reduced to 45 km, making it easier to travel via Chennai, Tirupati, and other places.
Additionally, Balashowry mentioned that this railway line would help in reducing the traffic burden on Vijayawada Junction. He also requested the revival of the train from Machilipatnam to Dharmavaram via Tirupati, which was discontinued last September.
