Mangalagiri: April 7: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh stated that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the only Chief Minister in the country who had intentionally stalled the development. He criticized Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that he uniquely impeded the progress of his predecessor’s government, unlike any other chief minister in the country.
During the election campaign in Mangalagiri on Sunday, Lokesh praised TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s contributions to Hyderabad’s development, noting that successive governments after Naidu continued the city’s growth trajectory initiated by him. This continuity, Lokesh argued, led to Hyderabad’s comprehensive development. Conversely, he accused CM Jagan of obstructing key developmental projects initiated by Naidu, resulting in setbacks for the state.
Lokesh highlighted CM Jagan’s alleged interference with projects such as the Amaravati capital city construction and the Polavaram irrigation project. He also mentioned the cancellation of power purchase agreements and the departure of industries like Bharath Biotech, Amara Raj Batteries, and Jockey Apparels to other states during Jagan’s tenure.
The TDP leader also criticised the YSRCP government’s handling of education and employment issues. He claimed that educated youth in Andhra Pradesh faced unemployment due to the chaotic governance under CM Jagan. Lokesh pointed out the discontinuation of schemes like Videsi Vidya Deevena, which provided financial aid to students aspiring for overseas education, and the failure to implement fee reimbursement schemes for higher education students.
Additionally, Lokesh raised concerns about the substantial increase in electricity charges over the past five years, attributing it to the Jagan government’s decisions regarding power purchase agreements. He promised that if the TDP were to return to power, measures would be taken to reduce electricity charges and address government job vacancies.
