White paper released on deteriorating security situation under YSRCP rule.

The Capital News
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched a blistering critique of former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing his administration of egregious failures in maintaining law and order and using law enforcement to suppress opposition leaders.. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled a white paper that detailed what he described as the deteriorating security situation under the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) rule. Naidu’s address was a vigorous defense of his own tenure and a condemnation of Jagan’s administration.

He asserted that while his government had successfully tackled factionalism through a range of measures—including curfews, surveillance systems, and targeted anti-extremism initiatives—the situation under Jagan’s rule had markedly worsened. He claimed that his efforts, including the installation of around 14,770 CCTV cameras and the implementation of body-worn cameras for police accountability, had significantly improved public safety and turned Hyderabad into an international investment hub.

In stark contrast, Naidu alleged that Jagan’s regime had dismantled the police system and used law enforcement to suppress opposition leaders. He pointed to numerous cases filed against TDP and Janasena leaders as evidence of a politically motivated crackdown. Naidu also criticized the YSRCP for allegedly engaging in violent and unlawful tactics, including the demolition of opposition leaders’ properties and attacks on party offices. He stated that, apart from the Babli case, he faced no legal issues before, but now 17 cases have been filed against him.

Pawan Kalyan has faced seven cases, and JC Prabhakar Reddy over 60. Naidu accused the YSRCP of demolishing Palla Srinivasa Rao’s house and targeting TDP leaders like Ravindranath and Dhulipalla Narendra with jail time. He also alleged that government officials, including Koona Ravikumar, were unfairly targeted and criticized the misuse of social media against women leaders and former speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, which led to his suicide.

Additional allegations included wrongful cases against TDP leaders Anita and Ayyanna, mistreatment of Achchenna, and improper charges against Narayana and alleged torture against Raghurama Krishnam Raju. The Chief Minister further accused Jagan’s administration of systemic abuse, and a failure to address serious crimes and communal violence.

Naidu condemned what he described as the politicization of the legal system and vowed to restore effective governance and accountability.

Naidu framed himself as a seasoned leader dedicated to upholding democratic principles and ensuring the rule of law in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized his commitment to reversing what he sees as the damage done by Jagan’s administration and to fostering a more stable and just governance framework
