Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Party president Y S Sharmila Reddy, unveiled a set of guarantees during the inauguration of “Gadapa Gadapaku Congress” on Saturday, ahead of the upcoming general elections in the state. These guarantees, if the Congress Party is voted into power in Andhra Pradesh, include ensuring Special Category Status to the state for a period of ten years, implementing the Mahila Mahalakshmi scheme that provides Rs 8,500 per month for women, waiving loans up to 2 lakhs for farmers, introducing a minimum support price scheme to ensure 50 per cent profit on investment for farmers on crops, raising the minimum wage to Rs 400 under the employment guarantee scheme for laborers, providing free education from Kindergarten (KG) to Post Graduation (PG), filling 2.5 lakh job vacancies in the State government, and increasing pensions to Rs 4000 per month for senior citizens and others, as well as Rs 6000 per month for the handicapped. These guarantees encompass a wide range of issues aimed at addressing the welfare and development needs of various segments of society, highlighting the Congress Party’s commitment to these critical concerns if entrusted with governance in Andhra Pradesh.
